Presentation: Burlingame Historic District

On Thursday, September 17 at 6:00 PM, retired architect Steve Fobes will give a presentation on the history of the Burlingame Historic District at the North Park Historical Society’s regular monthly meeting.

Please join us at the St. Mark’s Meeting Room at Grace Lutheran Church on 3967 Park Boulevard, San Diego, CA 92103.

Guided Walking Tour: Burlingame Historic District

The North Park Historical Society will offer a guided walking tour of the Burlingame Historic District on Saturday, October 10 starting at 10:00 AM. Led by retired architect Steve Fobes. Learn all about the origins of the “Tract of Character” with its pink sidewalks and unique architectural styles.

Meeting location is the northwest corner of 32^nd Street and Kalmia Street. The walk is about 1 mile and will take about 1 ½ hours. The tour is free and any donations are appreciated to our all-volunteer 501(c) (3) local non-profit via cash onsite or Venmo.

Burlingame Historic District

Kalmia Street north to Burlingame Drive, from 30th Street east to 32nd Street

Commercial Core

½-mile loop along North Park Way and University Avenue, from Utah Street east to Ray Street

Streetcar Suburb Neighborhood

Hamilton Street and University Avenue

North Park Dryden Historic District

1-mile loop from Upas Street north to Landis Street, on 28th Street and Pershing Avenue

Pauly’s Addition

1-mile loop including Upas Street, Mississippi Street and Texas Street

Morley Field Recreation Area

1-mile loop including the pool, tennis courts, softball fields and surprising views
