The work experience of our all-volunteer Board of Directors includes city and regional planning, civil engineering, education, public administration, quality control and training, accounting, architecture, public relations, salvage, environmental planning, and public finance. We enjoy sharing our knowledge of North Park history and architecture with everyone at our walking tours and events.

The public is welcome to attend our Board meetings starting at 6:00 pm on the third Thursday of each month except for December. Our meetings usually take place in the meeting room at Grace Lutheran Church on 3967 Park Boulevard, San Diego, CA 92103.

2018: County of San Diego Proclamation for NPHS 10th Anniversary
2015: City of San Diego Historical Resources Board Excellence in Historic Preservation Award for Images of America: San Diego’s North Park.
2014: Save Our Heritage Organisation People in Preservation Award for designation of the water tower and surrounding water supply facilities on the National Register of Historic Places, sharing the award with University Heights Historical Society, McKinley Elementary School, and historian Alexander Bevil, who prepared the historical designation application.
2012: City of San Diego Historical Resources Board Award of Excellence for Community History for work on the North Park Dryden Historic District

Summary of Accomplishments
2016: Successfully nominated John Pearson, a home builder in North Park during the 1920s, as a Master Builder.
2015: The City of San Diego Historic Resources Board designated the Water Tower and surrounding historic district of water infrastructure as a local significant historic resource.
2015: The Water Tower was proclaimed a Local Historic Civil Engineering Landmark by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) San Diego Section.
2014: Prepared Images of America: San Diego’s North Park which was published by Arcadia Publishing Company.
2013: Achieved listing of the Water Tower and surrounding area of past and present water facilities on the National Register of Historic Places.
2011: Achieved local designation of the North Park Dryden Historic District and prolific San Diego builder Edward F. Bryans as a Master Builder.
2010: Reprinted Burlingame: the Tract of Character by Donald Covington.
2010-2019: Held annual classic car shows.
2007: Published North Park: A San Diego Urban Village, 1896-1946 by Donald Covington, which is still in print.
