North Park Water Tower Placed on National Register of Historic Places and the City of San Diego’s list of Historic Places

For several years, the North Park Historical Society was interested in securing designation of the North Park Water Tower as an historic place. On May 1, 2013 the State Historical Resources Commission unanimously approved listing the Water Tower and  the surrounding “district” of past and present water supply facilities as a significant California Resource. On June 25, 2013 the Water Tower and the entire University Heights Water Storage and Pumping Station Historic District was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
